We cannot thank Next Level Dog Training enough for what they have done for Bear and for us. Before his residential training, Bear was reactive to people and animals, pulling, lunging and barking on walks. We had reached the point where walks were incredibly stressful, and we were relying on private fields just to give him a safe and enjoyable place to exercise. Since his training which was in April 2026, our lives have completely changed. They didn't just train Bear — they taught us about confidence, leadership, consistency and, most importantly, how to understand Bear and his breed (Working Line German Shepherd) and meet his needs properly. Bear is now able to walk past animals and livestock without reacting, and we have the confidence to take him places we never would have dreamed of before. He has travelled through France and Spain with us, stayed at campsites, visited beaches and restaurants, and handled so many new environments brilliantly. We also recently had family visiting from abroad, taking our household from 3 people to 10, including four children Bear had never met. The two youngest were initially terrified of dogs, but over the three weeks Bear built such a lovely relationship with them that they eventually went from being scared to feeding him by hand. We are incredibly proud of the dog Bear has become. He no longer needs a muzzle or to be covered in different pieces of equipment just to go for a walk. We now have so much more confidence and control with simply his collar and lead, and most importantly, Bear gets to enjoy life with us. We deliberately waited before writing this review because we wanted to genuinely put the training into practice and give an honest account of how things have been. Kaytlyn Davies26 August 2026I had residential training for my almost 2 year old GSD Enzo, honestly life savers. His main issues being reactivity to people and no loose lead walking. I was kept updated on his progress throughout with pictures and videos. And had a very thorough handover going over how to continue the training and afterwards a detailed message to explain everything. Any issues we’ve had afterwards I’ve been able to message and they’re quick with detailed feedback. Dez King17 August 2026Excellent 1-2-1 training. Booked a 10 week course, even after 3 weeks my GSD is a lot more controlled on the lead. (making the walk more enjoyable and less stressful for me) He is a lot less reactive to cats and birds when out walking. He is also starting to be more confident around other people and dogs. Imogen Holgate10 August 2026It's hard to write this review as no words seem to cover just how amazing the team at Next Level Dog Training are. Our dog Bodhi went to stay with them for 4 weeks as he was reactive towards other dogs after being attacked on several occasions. From the very first contact with Ron, I had such a good feeling about them. Ron explained why Bodhi was acting the way he was and explained the process and what the training would entail. Bodhi's main trainer was Kelsa. We were kept up to date with plenty of photos and videos of Bodhi and his progress. We could clearly see the progress he had made and just how happy he was. Picking him up after the 4 weeks we had a session with Kelsa explaining and showing us what Bodhi had learnt during his stay. We went off site to the local park and walked past many dogs, Bodhi well and truly showing off his new skills and Kelsa showing us what to do if a reaction did occur. What was equally amazing to see was just how much Bodhi had bonded with Kelsa. Being a whippet he can be quite sensitive, but he was clearly a very happy boy! To say Kelsa and Next Level Dog Training have changed our lives would be an understatement - I cannot believe how calm Bodhi is now. We are now able to enjoy walks and not be on constant high alert of what/who is around the corner and are now finding ourselves a little disappointed when we don't see as many dogs as we are still in awe of just how calm he now is! Not only did Kelsea teach him to be calm around other dogs but also around wildlife. Walking past ducks, swans, birds etc now means no more lunging or barking. Bodhi is still his usual goofy self yet with a lot more lead manners and an overall calmness when we leave the house. I cannot thank you enough.Posted on Google
joe reynolds8 August 2026Since picking Frank up from his 5 week residential training he’s been an absolute pleasure to walk again. He now knows to ignore other dogs and the positive praise comes from keeping his attention on the handler. We’ve realised today that we’ve managed to go back to the old Frank and he and ourselves enjoy going out again rather than worrying what’s around every corner. Thanks so much to next level training and especially Chris for the time and effort they’ve put into our pooch. Chris2 July 20263 months after George's residential training just wanted to update! I am still so pleased with the continued improvements in him (us!) I can now take him out confident that we can enjoy our walks without me being anxious he'll become so excited he might pull me over. He is much calmer when meeting other dogs and people and is often praised for his good behaviour. He is calm when visitors come, and will sit rather than jump up at them. Most remark on how he has changed. I had wondered before training if we were suited to each other, he was a re-homed dog, and very different from all my prevoius ones. Emma Roome1 July 2026We booked Luna for a four-week residential stay because we were really struggling with her reactivity both at home and out on walks. When we arrived, we were met by Ron, who answered all of our questions, explained everything clearly and made us feel completely at ease about leaving Luna. Communication throughout her stay was absolutely excellent. They set up a dedicated WhatsApp group for Luna, and receiving regular updates, photos and videos gave us complete peace of mind. It was amazing to watch her confidence grow, and it made us feel involved every step of the way. Two weeks into her stay, Luna became unwell. The team acted quickly and contacted us so we could get her to the vets for antibiotics. Thankfully, she was cleared to continue her training. What really stood out was how Matt handled the situation. He told us that if Luna hadn't been well enough to continue, we could simply rebook her four-week stay, meaning the two weeks she had already completed would effectively have been free. Even though she didn't need to leave, that offer proved they had Luna's best interests at heart. When it came to the training itself, we genuinely cannot thank Chris enough. He has worked absolute wonders with Luna. He completely understood her sensitive, nervous nature and took the time to build her trust and confidence at her own pace. The bond she built with Chris was clear to see. Towards the end of her stay, Luna started showing some prey drive behaviours, and Chris asked if he could keep her for an extra week at no extra cost so he could continue working on this. We were incredibly grateful, and it really showed how committed he is to every dog he trains. Since coming home, Luna is much calmer and her reactivity has improved dramatically. We are finally enjoying our walks together, she has been so well behaved at the vets and around family, which is something we never thought we'd see. Chris didn't just build Luna's confidence he built ours too, giving us the confidence, knowledge and understanding to continue her training at home. The handover session was invaluable, and the detailed training plan has made it so much easier to put everything into practice. Unfortunately, we recently found out that Luna needs an operation, and we were worried about how this would affect her progress. After speaking to Ron, he immediately reassured us that we have their support and that we could continue our follow-up sessions once Luna was well enough. That level of ongoing care and support really means a lot and shows that their commitment doesn't end when your dog goes home. We cannot recommend Chris, Ron, Matt and the rest of the team highly enough, especially to anyone with a nervous or reactive dog. Their professionalism, kindness and dedication has been exceptional, and it has been clear throughout that Luna's health, welfare and long-term progress have always come first. Annie Osborne24 June 2026We sent our one year old Doberman to Next Level Dog Training for one month's residential training and I can honestly say it was the best decision we have made. Chris and the team have made such a difference. We were really struggling with her behaviour, she would nip us, jump and get completely over-excited. The training has been a complete reset for her and by the time we picked her up she was a different dog. But what's really important is that when we collected her Chris went through everything, we were there for the whole morning. Not only that, the communication doesn't just stop when you drive home, we have a WhatsApp group and follow up sessions if needed. So not only is the training absolutely excellent but the follow up is amazing. We had updates through the month, pictures and videos, which was really reassuring. Our Doberman is so much happier now that we know how to deal with her and she has boundaries and knows what is expected of her. Didnt work for my reactive dog Please be aware you are paying for a premium dog training service that has failed us we paid nearly 4K for 4 weeks it was our last hope after having lots of other trainers for our reactive boxer. We were 'promised' he would come home reprogrammed and I'd be able to walk him on the lead as I have disabilities that affect my strength he isn't he is worse than before he went! Dispite printing off a crib sheet sharing with all my family so we are consistent sent to us to continue at home our dog is worse than before he went. We realise that our dog will be with us for many years this is why we chose this trainer to help. Now that he's home and the service promised hasn't worked I have not been offered an apology, or a refund, my dog was put on a diet without my consent and I believe he is now suffering ptsd. At the beginning we should have been told there training methods don't always work for every dog. Which is the case for us. I've been asked to video myself and send it to them I refuse to do this as I believe I will receive criticism even when we are doing everything shown to us on pick up. Very disappointed in service we received. We are continuing to hire private areas for our dog to run and enjoy his life because we love him.Posted on Google
Easter Willott24 May 2026Walks with Star used to result in tears. Usually from both of us. We'd done everything we thought was right, calm and neutral socialising. Lots of different places. But after a period of sickness she began to get more and more afraid of the world. We tried a few different trainers. Spent months following advice as best we could. Spent a lot, lot of money. But overall found ourselves with little progress on the issue that actually mattered. Sure, she was amazing in a non urban area. Had a recall and a down stay that'd put many to shame. But walking down my local street? We were once trapped at home by a man painting a fence. For days. After a stay with Next level things are back on track. Yes, she still jumps at a passing bus sometimes. But she turns right back around for a treat, gives herself a little shake and soldiers back on again. So thank you again for the understanding, for listening to our issues and giving Star the exact help she needed. For helping me not worry too much whilst she was away, and the lovely pictures. Sarah Dennis27 April 2026Chris and the team had my dog, Alfie, for four weeks residential training in January. Alfie is nervous with aggressive tendencies and I was struggling to leave my flat without him jumping up and biting. The team have transformed that behaviour and we now have a great routine when I leave making it easier all round. I was also taught a lot of other things, including how to handle Alfie when we are out and about to avoid him getting into confrontations with other dogs. Simple things like creating a barrier between him and other dogs has made walking so much easier. He's still Alfie but I feel so much more capable of dealing with his quirks and would never have been able to do that by myself. During his training, I was given regular WhatsApp updates and and sent photos of the training sessions. We have a follow up appointment available to us which we will use at some point. For the moment, we are following the new routines (all linked to the training) and Alfie is doing really well! I can't recommend Next Level Dog training highly enough.Posted on Google

She’s a high-drive GSD x Akita and while she was always great one-on-one, she really struggled around other dogs, especially off lead where her recall would go completely out the window. Now, she has full off-lead freedom and her recall is honestly amazing. Even in situations where other dogs are reacting or running at her, she stays calm and listens to everything I tell her. It’s given us so much confidence and completely changed what we can do with her day to day. We’re still working on some on-lead reactivity with other reactive dogs, but the progress she’s made overall has been huge. If you’re looking for real results and want to give your dog safe, reliable freedom, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.Posted on Google
Rita Kerr1 April 2026The first communication was with Ron, on the phone. he was so nice and helpful, he asked lots of questions, listening to my issues and was really understanding. He informed me about the whole experience of residential training and explained in full what to expect. We dropped our 10 month old sprollie pups off for 4 weeks at next level training, one dog at a time which Ron recommended and we were so grateful that we did as this gave us a full month with one pup to carry on the training while the other was there. . They were an absolute nightmare on the lead. They constantly pulled and dropped down onto the ground like rugby players to pull you along. The whole experience was horrible for both us and the pups. They lunged at people and dogs to say hello, they would react to all wildlife, leaves blowing, and cars. They jumped up constantly and were full of mischief and energy. We want to say a big thank you to John, their trainer. He was absolutely amazing with the pups. He was so good with them, he has managed to get them to walk to heel, to sit and stay and they are so much calmer, they listen to us now and all the hard work and mostly patience from John has certainly paid off. We are continuing with the training and it is much more rewarding and we are more confident thanks to the training he gave us. His kindness and patience was a credit to him. The pups obviously loved him, they were so happy to be there. I would highly recommend next level training to anyone. The accommodations and area were fabulous for them and all the photos and video updates proved this. The whole experience for us was so interesting. John was really calm and friendly and his advice was always helpful and again very patient. He shows true passion for his job. The pups are both home now and even when meeting again for the first time in 8 weeks they were calm and didn’t go mental. John explained about the dogs needing lots of rest, and to put lots of time and effort into playing with them. Thank you again to John and all the staff for looking after our pups so well and for all the hard work that has gone in to helping us with them. With the help of Chris, Georgie has become a new dog ! I can now take him out and actually have fun with him when before it was not an enjoyable experience. Sunerie Platton4 January 2026I have two dachshunds, Norman (4 years old) and Nellie (7 months old). Out of the two, Norman wasn’t as bad, but when we were out and about he was still unpredictable and could react to passing dogs by barking and lunging. Going to a café or pub, either indoors or outdoors, was absolutely out of the question as he just couldn’t cope in that environment. He would bark constantly and be on edge the entire time. Nellie was very different. From almost day one of coming into our home, she was suffering from anxiety and nervousness. She was frightened of everyone and everything, which resulted in her barking constantly whenever I took her out for a walk. It was becoming increasingly stressful for both of us, and I knew that moving forward I needed professional intervention. I did my research and read all the reviews, which is what set Next Level Training above all the rest. Norman and Nellie went for four weeks of residential training with Matt as their trainer. I was sent regular updates via WhatsApp, including photos and videos of their training, which was very reassuring. After 10 days, my son and I went back for a training session with Norman, as he was making incredible progress. However, for this progress to continue, we needed to learn the skills too and make sure we were continuing them daily. This is paramount to any dog’s progress — it’s ongoing and must remain consistent. One of the main things I’ve learned is that dogs need boundaries, just like children do. We didn’t see Nellie that day as she was still building her relationship with Matt, and we didn’t want to unsettle that. My dogs have now been home for a week and the difference is beyond words. I am still walking them separately for now until I can confidently take them out together, but that will come soon. In the meantime, their individual walks have changed from being filled with barking, lunging, stress, fear, panic, and embarrassment to calm, confident, relaxed, and happy walks. Most importantly, they are walks where I am in control and they know it (well, most of the time — it’s a work in progress!). They’re also listening much more at home than ever before. As Matt says, everything is a work in progress, but we are finally moving forward, and that’s what matters. Ultimately, this is all down to the outstanding expertise and dedication of Matt and his team at Next Level Training. I can’t praise or thank them enough for what they have done. If you are considering training for your dog, please choose them without hesitation — you won’t regret it. She came back her same crazy, loving self, but much calmer, more polite, and way more respectful of other people and other animals boundaries. What I really loved is that Next Level didn’t just help Bonnie, they helped us too. As first-time dog owners, being shown how to keep up her training at home made such a difference and gave us loads more confidence. We got regular updates, photos, and videos while Bonnie was there, and in every single one she looked like she was having the best time. It was so reassuring seeing how happy and settled she was the whole time. They also offer ongoing support which gives us peace of mind, as we can pop back for 1-to-1 sessions to keep on top of Bonnie’s training I’d looked around before choosing Next Level and I’m so glad I went with them. Facilities great, dogs were all looked after perfectly and their emotional needs are the priority whilst training for real life situations. Kennels were the most peaceful ive ever seen! Saw lots of different techniques and approaches - not just a one size fits all regime. The team are good with dogs and good with people! I would happily leave my dog with the team for residential training after seeing the process. Keaton Ward3 December 20254 weeks ago we dropped our 10 month old Doberman off to Next Level Elite and we can comfortably say it was the best decision we have made. Frank is a real high energy breed which we already knew but he really struggled to regulate himself after being hightened, he jumped up constantly, humped everything in sight, pulled like crazy on his lead and generally just couldn’t control his behaviour. I was put in to contact with Matt through a personal friend when I had spoken to them about our dogs behavioural issues. Right from the very first conversation I had a very different feel to any other dog trainer I had spoken to so we straight away arranged to go and see the facilities & from the minute we walked onto the site we were amazed. Clean, heated & spacious kennels. Lots of woodland areas for walks. Numerous training fields and much more. During the 4 weeks we had constant updates on Franks progress with messages, pictures and videos of him out doing his training. Also living local we were invited to meet Matt the owner to do some 1 on 1 sessions with Frank so he could show us how to handle him in different scenarios and on handover Matt also had an extra hour with us to tidy up a few things & even after Frank has finished Matt has been in contact to check on progress. Since returning home Frank has been like a different dog with his mannerisms but keeping his amazing personality. We couldn’t recommend Next level enough and will be looking forward to top up sessions in the future with the team.Posted on Google

I have an 8 month old Belgian mallinois and was considering sending her to residential training to encourage her training. Ron was a true professional from the word go - we discussed Kali In detail for about fifteen minutes until he advised that after the assessment that he didn’t see the benefit of taking her in for residential training - he then proceeded to spend another 15 + minutes giving me advice on how I could help her at home. To me that says it all about this company. They are here because they genuinely want to help your dog and won’t try and take your money for the sake of it. It was an absolute pleasure to speak to Ron and I know from that conversation that if I ever have a reactive dog or one with any other issues in the future I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to get training with them. Diana Sharp1 November 2025I was starting to think of re homing Dudley, my 16 month old teenage Labrador. Walks were stressful as he just wanted to say hello to anyone and anything that moved. I started to only go where it was quiet and I would panic if I saw someone with a dog knowing he would react even though this was with his boundless enthusiasm. He didn’t understand that not every dog wanted to say hello or that not every person liked dogs or wanted a 30kg Labrador run towards them. He was destructive at home - shredding cushions was his specialty. After a particularly bad walk I googled dog training and found Next Level Dog Training. From the very first conversation I knew they understood and could help me. So Dudley joined their residential training program. I received updates and progress reports with photos and videos and I was amazed at what I saw. He was calmer, ignored distractions, walked nicely and was clearly enjoying his time with them. When we collected him we had a handover with instructions and demonstrations on what to do going forward. We were amazed at the change in him. It was hard work at first as he had to learn to behave for us as well and not just for the trainers so it wasn’t instant success. And training is ongoing. But 2 months down the line he has proved all the training and hard work by Matt, Chris and the team was so worthwhile I can take him anywhere on or off the lead and he ignores other dogs - even those that run at him, and other distractions. A stranger commented a couple of days ago on how well behaved he was which was unheard of before. I was either apologising, being shouted at or just going to quiet locations. He is calm, cushions aren’t being shredded and he is a joy to walk. I can’t thank Matt; Chris and all at next level enough. I only wish I had found them sooner. If we didn’t live 3 hours away I would follow up with ongoing sessions, but even so they have continued to help, answering queries and offering continued support. I no longer want to re home Dudley! Elaine25 August 2025We have had our beautiful rescue border collie for nearly three years but he came with a lot of issues, some to do with his breeding others created by years in a rescue centre, being rehomed & returned back to kennels. He had obviously never been in a home environment. As time went on we struggled more & more, highly alert to any noise in home. If we wanted to hoover, put washing in or even wash up, we had to put Glen outside, but then he just started barking, picking things up & shaking them. Forget trying to watch TV, one of us would sit with Glen whilst the other would watch TV on low volume in another room. Life had become unbearable so we contacted dog behaviourists, dog trainers, Dogs trust but after thousands of pounds and many days, weeks, months of practicing what they taught us, nothing was changing Glen's behaviour. We had got to the point where we thought we cannot take anymore, we have to give him up but our hearts could not be the next people to give up on him, he is so loving. So we started to look for residential training in the hope someone could get Glen used to the sounds of everyday life, to walk calmly on a lead near traffic and now after 6 weeks of residential at Next Level Dog Training we have just brought home a totally different Glen. During our handover we walked Glen, following Luke's instructions, past other dogs and along a busy road, was this really our Glen, walking close and not bothered by the traffic. At the centre Glen sat relaxed whilst TV was on, didn't react to pressure washer being used. We never thought we would see this day, whilst I txt this, Glen is fast asleep, we have had a lovely day, walking Glen, traffic going past on our way to the woods and no reaction, just a relaxed day all together. Of course there will be continued, consistent training for us & Glen but now we know what we need to do & how to do it. No more years of confusion, stress and financial loss. If you're dreading walks, crossing streets to avoid other dogs, making excuses like "No, you can't play with everyone," or feeling stressed every time you head out with your dog…. then this review is for you. We have Desmond, our 2-year-old standard schnauzer, who had developed some pretty intense reactive behaviors. Cats, dogs, people, anything that moved or blew in the wind would send him into a spiral of anxiety. Unfortunately, a lack of proper training and guidance only made things worse, leading to a very stressed-out dog (and owners!) who dreaded every walk. We had tried multiple trainers, online advice, and even spent hundreds on various tools like haltis and leads, hoping they'd work. Nothing did. Desmond needed more than just distractions; he needed to be understood. In a last-ditch effort, I reached out to Justin. Our first phone call was a game-changer. Justin's understanding of Desmond's behavior and his calm, knowledgeable approach immediately put us at ease. After talking with my partner, we booked Desmond in for a 4-week training program with Next Level. Up until he was due to go, we were filled with doubt and nervous anticipation, could this actually work? Was it going to be worth the money? Could they really help with such a reactive dog? We read through every review we could find, hoping to relate to someone else’s experience, yet still couldn’t shake the “what if it doesn’t work” feeling. The fear of disappointment was real. But in the end, we couldn’t have been more wrong. The transformation is absolutely mind-blowing. What was once an unmanageable, reactive dog is now a calm, happy companion. We literally can’t walk him without filming because we’re still in disbelief at how much he’s changed. Before, Desmond would lunge, bark, growl, spin, and thrash around—he was a nightmare to walk. We’d avoid crowds and walk at odd hours to minimize stress, but it never felt like we were making progress. Now, he's a totally different dog. He’s relaxed, content, and actually enjoys his walks, and so do we. We can now pass people, dogs, even cyclists on the same side of the road without him reacting. No more bulky harnesses or complicated gear—just a happy dog, one lead, and the confidence we always wanted. From start to finish, the whole experience was seamless. When we picked up Desmond at the end of his 4 weeks, we spent the day with Justin and Chris, the trainer who built such a strong bond with him. We practiced basic commands like "heel" and "sit," then did some real-life scenarios like doorbells, crate training, and a trip to a local dog park filled with distractions. That’s when we truly saw the change in Desmond for the first time—it was honestly like a weight had been lifted off him, and we couldn’t stop smiling. Since returning home, we’ve kept up with the training, checking in with the team for tips and advice. The support has been incredible, and we’re happier than ever with Desmond’s progress. In short, this was the best investment we’ve ever made for Desmond and for ourselves. He’s now living his best, stress-free life, and we’re thrilled to be enjoying our walks together. Norma Hildon12 June 2025I took my GSD Buddy because he was dog reactive and I had tried several so called dog trainers to help me but had no success so after he had escaped from the house and attacked a dog, although without injuring it, I decided it was time to look for some better qualified trainers who could spend more time with him. After a detailed conversation with Justin I decided to book him in for four weeks. I received videos and updates on his progress and on collection was shown how they had trained him to not respond to reactive triggers and how to proceed at home . They told me I could contact them anytime with any concerns and even go back if necessary. Buddy had only been home a few days and we are both getting use to the new training but it has been going well and I accept that he is never going to be friendly to dogs but at least I can walk past them instead of having to avoid them. Next Level is a very professional dog training facility and Justin and Luke who was Buddy’s trainer were very friendly and answered any questions or concerns I had and I would fully recommend them for any dog training problemsPosted on Google
Kevin Jarvis2 June 2025A huge thank you to Justin, Luke and the team for all your hard work with our 3 year old Vizsla, Axel. From about two years old he started to get aggressive tendencies towards some other dogs. We personally spent a great deal of time with him trying to find the trigger, so we could make necessary corrections. Unfortunately we were unable to do this, so we contacted 'Next Level'. We were quite anxious at first as we thought Axel suffered from separation anxiety, and wouldn't be able to handle 4 weeks in kennels. We were however, reassured on the first progress update, and he was indeed fine. Further updates and photos/videos followed showing the progress he was making which again is reassuring. We could see the progress he was making and we were excited about it. On hand over, Luke gave us a thorough briefing on what he had achieved with a full demonstration with Axel, before giving us the opportunity to practice. We were instantly enthused as we seemed to have much more control over him. It is now almost two weeks later, and we have been consistently thorough with the same routines. The results so far are very encouraging. Instead of being aggressive to other dogs, he now chooses to ignore them and simply walk by. It is early days yet but we are very encouraged. We are very confident that moving forward, we will be able to once again enjoy Axel's company and not have the fear of him wanting to attack other dogs. Billy27 May 2025Justin and the team looked after our 12-month-old Irish Terrier, Sedric, whilst we were away in Europe. Sedric wasn’t a massive problem but his response to commands was inconsistent and generally reliant on bribery, and he was always pulling to get at other dogs and say hello! He also found it hard to decompress at home. Our trip was just two weeks in duration, but Justin said that for him to make a difference to Sedric’s behaviours, he would need him for 4 weeks. A week to gain his trust, a week to break down habits and then a couple of weeks to build new habits. We dropped Sedric off with some concern at how he would handle the whole affair, but we needn’t have worried. Within a couple of hours, we received our first video update, showing Sedric having a ball in the field, chasing toys and clearly settling in straight away. For the time he was with Next Level, we had a video or phone update every two or three days, and Justin phoned for a more-in depth verbal update about half-way through. We were also provided with some beautiful photographs of Sedric ‘on location.’ We picked Sedric up at the end of his ‘holiday’ and were delighted with his renewed focus: he now looks to us for guidance when on the leash and is a much more relaxed dog all round. What we have learned, is that it is not so much physical activity that calms a dog, but mental stimulation and fulfilment (of which walking is just one part). We know that this is just the start but we now feel much better equipped to help Sedric become the model citizen that he deserves to be. Tracey21 May 2025A big thank you to Rob He did a fantastic job with training our Dachshund Bertie. Bertie was reactive towards dogs and people, he pulled on his lead and most of all we couldn’t socialise him with my Daughters Dog Rufus which separated the family. Wendy Cochrane13 May 2025Want to say a big thank you to Luke, Justin and the team. Rotty has just completed a 4 week training course with Next Level Training. Rooty would react to the ring doorbell, delivery vans, cars/people going past the window, etc etc……we now have a dog that is non-reactive and calm. Even the delivery man commented on how calm Rooty was as he sat on his bed looking at him. Before he went he was living on adrenaline that didn’t sleep - we now have a dog that is happy to sleep most of the day! Even now we’re home if we have a question they are always happy to answer it. Sophie Denyer13 May 2025We left our 4 year old dachshund, Flick, in the very capable hands of Justin and Chris at Next Level for 4 weeks, and they have honestly transformed both Flick's wellbeing and ours as owners. Prior to going, Flick was pretty well trained for following commands, recall, tricks and lead walking but around 18 months ago she was attacked by a dog whilst on the lead and since then we had been struggling with increasing reactivity and an inability to settle and relax. Flick was always on alert and whilst she'd be ok walking past most dogs, she'd react massively to others. It was unpredictable and walking her had become stressful as a result. Flick's barking had also increased; she'd bark for attention, for toys, at people, for anything really. Flick has been a school dog since she was 8 weeks old, but that was becoming untenable because she needed so much managing throughout the day. She never seemed content to just be and despite all our best efforts, we just could not overcome the challenging behaviours, so we decided to invest in her wellbeing by sending her to Justin. We've been home a few days now and Flick is the calmest, most content I have seen her since she was a puppy. She rests and relaxes in busy places; even falling asleep in a pub! She is not phased by other dogs and she even walked past a herd of cows with no issues. Her lead walking was always ok, but now it is gold standard, walking to heel no matter how excited she is about where we are going. They have even taught her how to play properly for her breed instincts, which is fascinating to see. In school she is settled and calm, responding to instruction and not barking at all. This has honestly changed our lives and Flick is so obviously more content, which is what we really wanted. One thing we were worried about was whether she'd get the love and affection she gets at home but at our handover we saw her relationship with Chris and how is much he cared about her and that proved she absolutely did. We had updates throughout and quick responses whenever we checked in, the handover gave us the tools to carry on with what Next Level have taught her and since the moment we arrived home Justin has continued to be on hand to help us manage any challenges or answer any questions we have. Dachshunds have a reputation for being difficult to train but actually they are really intelligent hounds and Justin knows exactly how to tap into that. We're already planning on working with him again soon on particular skills/behaviours we want to master. I can't thank him, Chris and the rest of the team enough.Posted on Google
Laura Chambers12 May 2025I had been looking for residential training places for a while, this was our last resort after trying everything else. With the best reviews, I messaged justin at next level and he was so nice, put my mind at ease, spoke for about 40mins on our little sausage dog reggie and he's behaviour. It got to the point that I wouldn't take reggie out as it was so stressful. Reggie would get very aggressive as soon as he seen other people/dogs. We couldn't take him anywhere, which isn't fair on us and most importantly reggie as he wasn't living he best life. Reggie went for 4 weeks. Had regular updates, I would messaged justin or reggies trainer Luke and they would get straight back to me. They treated reggie like there own dog which really helped being away from reggie. I knew he was happy and living his best life. It's only been a day since getting reggie home. The results are absolutely amazing!! Reggie is so calm, we took him to a busy pub garden and he's was a pleasure and just lay down. There was children running about and other dogs!! I can't thank justin, Luke and all the team at next level dog training for looking after and training reggie. Absolutely amazing transformation!!! highly recommended!!
